OpTV is a videoprogram compiled for Transvaal, a working class area in Den Haag, that is marked for large-scale urban renovation. It will be playing on a screen attached to the office of Mobile projectbureau OpTrek, until it is demolished.

OpTV aims to be a window on the transformation processes of Transvaal, connecting experiences of daily life on the ground to developments in society, and placing them within a broader framework of changing political policies. The program has been assembled along themes such as social control, cultural confrontations, urban planning and its consequences on the private life of Transvaal inhabitants.

De la Reyweg 478, The Hague (the Netherlands). From 3 July until 31 December, 2005.

Mobile projectbureau OpTrek is a local artists organisation run by Sabrina Lindemann and Annechien Meier, that follows the route of the demolition, commissioning artists and architects to develop projects in the neighbourhood.

"Jack", the orange extension with the videoscreen, has been designed by artists/architects Jeroen Bisscheroux and Michiel Voet.
