Camilla is a Danish friend of ours, whose biographical material we have been using in different projects.

What attracted us to her specific background is the cultural paradox that she represents: she is Danish, but looks Asian, as an adoptee from South Korea. We have exploited this premise, treating her life's story as an allegory for the tensions between collective and individual identity, set against a backdrop of cultural conflicts.

A fictionalised adaptation of her biography found its way to Seoul, printed on locally designed advertisement flyers and distributed by the thousands inside the daily newspaper.

On another occasion, we used Camilla's family photo's within the context of the conflictual Basque identity, in an exhibition in Uhagon, a disused police station turned into a cultural center.
